FAQ

Common questions

What is a college resume?

+

A college resume — sometimes called an activities resume — is a one-page summary of a student's activities, leadership, work, service, and accomplishments used for applications, scholarships, interviews, and recommendations.

Is a resume required for college applications?

+

Not always, but many colleges accept them and most interviewers appreciate one. A clear resume also helps recommenders write stronger letters.

How is this different from the Common App activities list?

+

The activities list is short and character-limited. A resume gives room for more detail and context, and works well for scholarships, interviews, and portals that ask for uploads.

How long does it take?

+

Most resumes come together in one to two focused sessions plus a round of edits.
